I will be the first to admit that there are lawyers out there that care only about there bottom line. I, personally, would not aspire to be and hope to never become such a type of lawyer. I feel that the topic of proper track management should be addressed seriously by those who want the sport of motocross to continue and be a part of our local communities. The city officials who vote whether or not to approve land sites for motocross facilities find such accidents as the one mentioned on this site as one of many reasons for disapproval. It is sad that we, the motocross community in general, blame the lawyers and families who they represent for the track closures and bad press that results from such accidents. The real point I was attempting to make was that if we want tracks to remain open we need to have track owners who ensure, to the best of there abilities, the safety of the riders who use their facilities. Having a 5-year old riding a PW on the track at the same time with an 80 rider is insane. As a paramedic, I am sure you can attest to the damage an 85cc motorcycle can inflict upon a 40-50 pound child. My personal experience with track owners is that they are not always concerned with rider safety. Their priorities are much like the money-hungry lawyer: "how can I get paid?"
