Hey dude,
Sorry saw the ad.....LOL We are in the corner by the spectator jump in southwick with the signs "I WANNA GET DIRTY" ", "GO DOWDY" the crazy corner. Dowd actually covered us all the way to the bleachers, I have to tell you that man is the best in this sport, and I belive he is still racing today because of the support and love he recieves every year from from southwick and unadilla. "The love and support from the fans is what keeps a man young." John Dowd has been a local at 338 and will always be a local hero at our track. I talked with him on saturday after qualifying and asked him how he keeps it going after soooo long and he told me its us the fans, the need to have every fan behind him pushing. As far as im concerned I might as well be on that track racing because we give that man and every other rider out there the energy to strive to be their best. James Stewart will tell you first hand the feeling, the crowd, the love and support. I feel as if we the fans are the controlling who wins, who has the power to dig deep and have that spark to carry them though the solitude behind the helmet. Every rider dreams of riding the wave of the crouds love, and John Dowd and the rest of the legends are the only ones that can put in to words the feelings and energy that come from such admiration.
The only thing that compares is a truely epic day, The warm sun on a crisp morning, the grin on your riding buddys face just before you unload on a dew soaked mecca of pure heaven. Im sure you have been there, that first spark, that first smell of VP in the air. Its like a kid in a candy store and we are all kids once again. THIS IS WHAT KEEPS US YOUNG!!!! Its a passion, a love, as we all know our life.
