Hepler and Lawrence seemed to find each other on the track all day. Most exciting was the incident between the two in the main event, where Jlaw is seen here parking Hepler just past the first turn area. It was a blatant block/stop/lookback by Jlaw, and it's intention was clear: stay out of my way. Hepler ended up stalling the bike and was clearly "displeased" with the situation.

Chris Pourcel wrapped up the title in his first attempt and seemed pleased with himself for the first time since we've seen him around. After this weekend, he'll go have a screw removed from his collarbone that's been bothering him, and then he's not getting ready for Nationals - nope, he's looking forward to the East/West Shootout and is preparing for that.

Well, it happened: Josh Grant's luck ran out. It was a great ride while it lasted, but Grant hit the ground hard enough in the main to not get back up, and it appeared he ended up with a broken arm/wrist, although that hasn't been confirmed at this point.

RV2 was on hand for autographs, and appeared in very good spirits throughout the day. He says he's shooting to be back for Seattle, which is his hometown race, and says Nationals can't start soon enough.

Reed, shown here trying to stay out of Josh Grant's mess just after the first turn, ran away with the win in his heat race. Grant didn't go down, but Josh HIll, just behind Reed, did, forcing him into the LCQ which he easily won.

Windham managed a good start and to hold on to an easy 3rd place, all alone for nearly the entire race. This was his 2nd podium of the year, and he's currently sitting tied for 4th in points with Josh Grant. That should be a moot point though, as it appears Grant injured his left wrist/arm during the main.

Yamaha's Josh Hill had a tough night, crashing in his heat race, but winning the LCQ. He then put on a spirited charge through the pack in the main event to come from 11th to 4th by the flag.

james Stewart gained another 3 points on Reed in the title chase, and did so with the heart of a champion. Now just 5 points down in the title chase with Reed going into round 15 in 2 weeks in Seattle.

Ricky and Bubba did the old school look-over whips during the opening ceremonies, and the crowd not only appreciated it, they went absolutely nuts over it. Poor crowd turnout (guesses were under 20K) leaves this round up in the air for the future.
