Welcome to the 2 stroke world...you'll learn sooooo much on that bike. Both on and off it. It's a completly different creatre than your XR100, believe me. Take it easy your first time on it.

Pre-Ride:
-Check tires for wear and proper air pressure.
-Check for loose or missing spokes.
-Check your oil level
-Check radiator fluid
-Lube chain
-Make sure you have a full tank of premixed gas (32:1 for an 85)
-Check bolts for proper torque (Don't over tighten!)
-Inspect chain and sprockets for wear and proper adjustment (chain slack should be about 3 fingers stacked from right behind the chain slider)
-Check all controls
-Start bike and allow it to warm up until the top of the radiator is warm to the touch
-While the bike is running, turn the bars all the way to the left and all the way to the right. If the idle increases while you're turning you have a problem with your throttle that needs to be fixed before you ride.
-Once you have all your gear on and your bike is warmed up, go ride!

Post-Ride:
-Wash the bike with soap and warm water (plug off exhaust)
-Inspect bike for any damages
-Replace any worn or broken parts
-Dry and lubricate chain
-If you're not going to be riding for a while, drain your gas tank and carb.
-Change the oil *(every other ride)*
-Clean and oil air filter, inspect for damage, replace if needed.
-Once it's all dry and clean, you can put it in your garage up on a stand to take the load off tires and suspension. It's also harder to knock over if its on the center stand.
-For crying out loud get inside and finish your homework

At least 2 times a year you'll want to do a top end. More often the harder and more often you ride it. A top end consists of buying new piston rings, gaskets, circlips, wrist pin. A FULL top end consists of buying a new piston. rings, gaskets, wrist pin, circlips. As a rule, replace the piston rings the first time and the next time change the rings and the piston. Also every time you do a top end you should replace the coolant (you have to drain it anyway). Replace air filter twice a year. I always have 2 filters and I rotate them to prevent wear and tear on them plus I always have one oiled and ready. Your tires will probably be beat after a year too. Replace chain and sprokets.

Past that, (unless I missed anything) that's really all there is to know to keep it running. Premix your gas with 2 stroke oil at 32:1. To keep it running at full performance you have to jet daily, but that's a whole other subsystem all together. Have fun on that bike, it's an awesome bike. Ask most guys who ride 85's, most of them have been thrown on their asses by these suckers the first time they ride them, (cough...Justin...cough) so take it easy at first. The powerband will come up and smack you in the face.

i said sag...preload.shes a perfect weight(thats right,your NOT FAT lol)

but for a yz shes just a tiny bit on the tall side, not much though.im 4'8" and perfect on my yz with 99mm sag

so on second thought, try like 92-90 mm,thne it wont feel to small.idk do what you want,im just really werid with my bikes...ive been known to spend 3 hours+ setting up my suspesion to go for a 3 hr ride the next day  ...and i do that like everytime i ride to :D

Yeah...my crf80f is getting really boring, plus I NEED to get an 85 if I want to get into racing, which I do, because I'm already 14 and I only have a year left to kind of see if this is something that i want to be serious about, because there's no way that I will be able to compete with the 125 kids with no experience on an 85 first(85 class goes up to age 15).........that was a really long run-on sentence!!!!!!!!!
