Well I've had my new bike for a week now and I haven't been able to tell any of you guys how awesome it is because of computer problems. It's been very weird for me getting a yz125. I've never been much of a yamaha fan, it's just weird for me having a blue bike in the garage.

I was a little nervous getting a 125 after people had been telling me it'd be disadvantaged but I can't imagine being disadvantaged on this bike. The bike has a lot of power and the handling is superb! I can get in and out of corners far quicker on this bike than I ever could on my 250f (and this is after taking a six week break from riding). I can't believe that more people don't have one of these. It's not any harder to ride it than it is to ride a 250f. If anything it's easier. The power is so crisp and easy to manage (yet there's plenty of it), it takes very little clutch work if at all and it feels so light and easy to maneuver. The suspension is also very nice though it is a little harsh for me but I was expecting that. Once I get ligher springs put in the bike will be perfect . Anyway I'm very impressed with the bike and highly recommend that if you have an opportunity to take a spin on one go for it!

How tall are you? I have about half a foot before I can touch the ground on it. I haven't adjusted the sag or anything yet though.

I'm glad you like the 125! What year is it? Could you touch on your 250F before? Also, I could of swarn that you had a YZ250f before, so why is it weird to have a blue bike in your garage? Anways... have fun on the bike!

I haven't had a yamaha since I very first started riding and that was a 79' MX175. I had a CRF250 before this bike which is a 05' yz125. Before that I had a cr125 which I got in 2001, so it's been a while since I didn't have a honda. I couldn't touch on the CRF but I was closer to the ground. Here's a picture of the bike. I had a choice between a bike with the stock graphics or this one with the store's graphics.

YEAH!!! Another member of the two stroke faith!

Congrats, Lucy.

I have to show your post to a friend of mine.

I recommended the '05 YZ 125 for his son, he got it, and we were both VERY impressed with it. Even his spoiled-a......son liked it.(of course, he was angry that his dad and I had taken it for a test-ride.)

A short time later (after one race) his spoiled-a..... son insisted that his dad buy him a 250F because one of his buddies told him they were better.

Now the YZ is impounded at my house, and the kid is back to riding his KX 100.

I'm sure the "s.a.s." will be thrilled to find out that someone with alot more racing experience than him prefers the 125!!

The 05 yz 125s are awsome lucy. SOme guy let me ride his at the track and i couldnt beleive how light they were. YOu can definatly tell the differance. They also have good, crisp throttle response. Well any have fun on that yz.

That's amazing, some people just don't get it. The kid sounds like my boyfriends brother in law. The guy has a one year old daughter and another on the way but they live with his parents because he blows all of his money on riding. He keeps buying different bikes hoping that he'll find one that'll make him pro level.

To be honest I was prepared for not liking the bike. I thought it was going to be something I'd have to get used to and learn to be comfortable on.

Yeah but he doesn't have a wife and two kids to support. This guy is terrible one day while I was with his wife he came home with five new video games in his hand and told her she couldn't go grocery shopping (no food in the fridge) because they didn't have the money for it.

Now there's a guy I'd like to meet.

Preferably with no witnesses.

Yeah same, what an idiot! Video games now go for about $50 bucks for one. You said he bought five? Thats $250 dollars worth of video games, $250 is enough to buy enough (plus a little extra snacks) grocerys for 2 weeks (in our house at least).

What offer?

Thats a nice bike, and I can't keep my eyes away from the frame, Thats where I tend to look when I look at '05 Yamaha 2-strokes. I sat on a 2005 YZ125 and that was the closest I've ever gotten to riding one, and I could tell the difference between that and my KTM, feels quite a bit lighter, I can't imagine the difference while riding! Have fun!
