I went to the Honda shop this morning after work, the one I hadn't gone to yet. They had a blown diagram of the front wheel/forks so I could see exactly what that spacer I needed looked like. I told them that I was planning on riding this weekend and was waiting on that spacer from Missouri. The service guy said, hey we can just yank one off a bike on the floor. Not many people would do that, especially the first time I have been in that particular shop. They took a spacer off a 250, and told me to bring mine in when it arrived in the mail. It was very easy to put on. Needless to say, we went riding today. That thing is awesome. I love it. My son went crazy over that 85 too, he is hooked. The guy tried to sell me the 110 octane, is this a must have?

Yeah you dont need it. 93 octane however, is the absolute lowest you can go.

Yeah, I know. Actually, I was thinking this morning waiting for the shop to open.... If I had a shop, and a guy came in with my situation...I would hook him up the same way. Man, I didn't even have to ask, and didn't expect anyone to do that. Just figured I would have to wait for the mail...

sounds like a great shop, keep using it

and dont use 110, dont use 93, use what the manul reccomends (could be 93)

on these 4 strokes, the higher octane you run (higher then reccomended) the engine only runs hotter, not better, theres no benifits of running a higher octane then the manual reccomends, it only makes the engine hotter, not stronger

yea, great dealer it sounds like, keep using it, and get pics one of these days, like to see you 2 in action

you don't run stright 110. You need to delute it first with the lowest pump ocatne you have. Most people think you delute it with 93, but its not good because 93 octane has a bunh of boosting junk and additives.

I run my bike with pump 88 at a 50/50 ratio with 110

I think that motors (modded or not) run better on this, and i think its better for topend wear.

Don't use race fuel in your 4-stroke unless its VP U-4 (4 stroke fuel). Like adam said, 110 wouldn't help you, and it could hurt you.

You can just use 93 in both bikes, he doesn't need it as a begginer. But when he gets better and you two want to race, i would use race fuel.

Hihger octane runs COOLER.

I attribute the longevity of my motor to running C-12, even though most people tell me I'm wasting money.

Spend now, save later.

Race gas is more consistant in formulation than pump gas.

Pump gas (at least here in Cali) changes with the seasons.

No, you don't have to run race gas, but any combustion engine will benefit from quality, consistant fuel.

Higher octane doesn't make it more explosive. It makes it more resistant to detonation. It burns cooler, and is more consistant.

i could be wrong

but in a 2 stroke, the higher the octane the better

in our 4 strokes, higher then the manul reccomends the hotter the engine will run, not better

(what makes vp 4 so much better isnt its octane, its the oxygen additives)

i think im right, but i wont say "im right" but im pretty sure i am
