Well, if Sean can do it, I guess I better weigh-in too.
Name: John Gurzi
Home Town: Yorba Linda, California
D.O.B: A few years before Sean, and a couple before Steve
Nicknames: Moto Gurzi (like Moto Guzzi), Chef Gurzi, Young Bing, Geezer, Boss
Riding Since: 1968 (OUCH!)
Racing Since: 1971 (You may have heard of some of the tracks I raced at in SoCal, but they're all gone now.)
Current Truck: 2004 Ford FX4 Super Crew
Current Bike: 2002 RM 250
First Bike: Suzuki Trail 90 (no pics)
Second Bike: 1971 CZ 125
Third Bike: 1973 CZ 250 (got pics, but have to scan them)
Fourth Bike: 1977 RM 250
I broke my back on that one, and stopped racing.
Continued to ride it until 1979, when I started getting serious about playing music for a living (I was 19, do the math.) The music career took over my life until 1994.
In 1988, I married a wonderful groupie.
We had our first child (a girl) in 1991, our second (a boy) in 1994.
Between child one, and child two, I managed to land a deal with Chrysalis Music that convinced me that that the whole music industry sucked.
I quit the big $$ band, and joined a punk band that ROCKED!!! Unfortunately it was a few years too early for the punk resurgence that's happening now. So...........
By 1996 I was back on an RM 250!!!!
In 1999, I wiped out my left leg casing a triple at Elsinore (I won't post picks since most of you have seen them, and Gareth might see this post and puke on his keyboard.) It required five surgeries to fix. I was down for a year.
Here's a pic of me and my kids:
And here's a pic of my son on his '03 RM 65:
I don't have any pictures of my wife that she wouldn't divorce me for posting. Sorry.
Remember boys:
You don't stop riding because you get old.
You get old because you stopped riding!

Name: Derek Saunders
D.O.B: Septemer of 89'
Nick's: Big D, D, George(long story), Chubbs(see the pics haha).
Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta
Riding since:1996
Racing since:2003
Current Vehicle: 2005 Dodge Caravan(My old man's haha)
Current ride(s): 2004 YZ250, 2001 YZ125, and soon added a KXF250 I hope...
Got into riding from a neighbor who had an old Z50. Baught a 1979 Kawasaki KD100, then a 1980 YZ80, then I baught my two current bikes(over the span of three years) which are my YZ125, and my YZ250. I started track riding about 3 years ago, entered one race at the end of the 03 season and got hooked, placed horribly, but it was fun. Picked up 3-4 sponsors and managed a small local team ride for 04 and raced 4-5 races. Rode the 05 Season, did ONE race, had to stop because of financial stuff with my family. I worked all summer full time(50-60 hours a week) and baught my 04 YZ250. I'm planning on hitting 80% of the races this summer and pushing myself to place top-10.
Me, Before haircut, and loss of 20 lbs haha!:
Me, Halloween night, my "Date" HAHA:
End of Summer:
Now, riding pics!!
