Bubba is proof that motocross has evolved from being just about a great rider and fast bike, its about conditioning

Motocross has always been that way. Look back a few years. Johny Omara ran 26 mile marathons for fun to train for motocross. Guys like Ricky Johnson and Jeff Stanton trained their asses off. There workouts were legendary.

Then there was guys like Ron Lechien, more natural talent than every other rider combined, and tried to rely on just that. He was blistering fast, set the 125 world on fire. But when he moved to the 250's he could take some wins here and there but not weekend after weekend.

We are just seeing a continuation of History. Some riders are serious about the sport and take it to new levels and some just sort of wash away .

Crom, great point- it's the complete package: bike, rider, and conditioning.

some riders can get away without training, sometimes it works. and apparently this time it didnt. for thoes of you at southwick you know it was 90 degreese out and 100% humidity....that deinately contribuited to bubbas pulling off the track. being dehydrated you just can have a glass of water and be alright your are hurtin for a few hours.

Well,I have to disagree with you when you say some riders can get away with it, There is three consistent top finishers in MX & all 3 of them have very stringent training regements. In this day & age,if you want to be on top, training is completely needed.JS is young but he is getting older by the day & he's goin against guys that are training hard everyday. As far as it bein 90deg. & humid,it was that way for everybody, the men handled it,the boys pulled out & went home.
I have lost alot of respect for bubba this year & if I would have seen that no-fear interview I would have totally lost it,I had no idea he was that immature.

Ron Ron don't train and he proved he can run Bubba's pace!

As for this whole situation, I personally don't like Bubba, too disrespectful and expect's to be respected when he give's no one credit, think's he's "it" and no one can touch him. I enjoy seeing him getting beat. I'm not RC biggest fan, but hell I respect him sooooooo much for what he's done and what he does.

ronron may have proved he can run bubbas pace but neither have proved they can run rc or cr pace,so what are you tryin to say?My point was that to run with the best you have to train, bubba hasn't proven himself to be the best,he hasn't proven he can finish a race.I'm not tryin to dog you,it's not meant that way.

Same goes for you, I was just stating Ron Ron doesn't train that's all, which ever way you look at it, it's some feat being able to run Bubba's 125 pace without training!

On a personal note, I believe you need to train if you want to right there at the end.
