Gettin' excited!
Who's it gonna be?
It's usually pretty extreme conditions; hot and humid... track caters to the outdoor rider.
250's
1. Barring a wreck I think RC's going to check out both motos... gone.
2,3 are going to be exciting. I'm going to choose between Reed, KW, and Bubba. KW likes the track, he does well there but Reed has been very impressive this year. Bubba has the speed but can he last?
heres my first choice:
2. Reed
3. KW
that's a tough call!
125's
I have not a clue. Too many great riders, and it could be either one of them. It's gonna be fun to watch!!!
Remember Tedesco doing Larocco's leap on his 125 last year?

I'll be there.
Watch out for me strugging on a stock crf70 in the midsized stock class pitbike race. #39 and probably battling another goon on a crf #13 too while all the 110s check out.

250:
1. RC
2. Chad Reed
3. Windham
Bubba drops out due to fatigue and heat exhaustion; like the other 2 tracks with 90 plus temperature.
125:
1. Langston
2. Alessi
3. Brown
Note: Hughes could be tough with a good start, and Hot Sauce has been showing he is serious about outdoors as well as indoors. Rumor is he is going to Suzuki. He will be faster if he trains with RC.

250:
1. RC
2. Chad Reed
3. Windham
DNF Bubba
Bubba pulls out this time because of his in grown toe nail!
(I hope that helps light a fire under the boy. I will still be rooting for him.)
BTW Big respect for RC. He IS the greatest no doubt on and off the track.

Sorry man, didn't mean to offend anybody, I really just was refering to the class.
Just remembering it was fun because he wasn't in contention for the race due to a holeshot pileup so was just out having fun goofing off and showboating for the crowd.

Jim Kimball
After a weekend off, the AMA Motocross Championships presented by FMF picks back up at round five at Red Bud Track and Trail in Buchanan Michigan. After an enormous heat-wave the past few weeks, a cold front has come through which will hopefully cool things down – at this traditionally well known motocross melting spot.
Even with Jim’s Motorcycle privateer Honda rider Mike Brown, and Team Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael holding decent point’s leads, anything can happen. As you likely know, the 125 class is wide open, with up to a half dozen possible winners – including Brown, Monster Energy Pro Circuit riders Grant Langston and Ivan Tedesco, Team Makita Suzuki’s Broc Hepler and maybe Davi Millsaps, Amsoil Chaparral Honda’s Josh Grant, privateer Ryan Hughes; and Red Bull KTM’s phenom Mike Alessi. The big question coming into Red Bud will be “how is Alessi’s shoulder injury?” With a weekend off, Alessi could be back to full strength.
In the 250 class, I don’t know how anyone would bet against Ricky Carmichael. Sure, Yamaha’s Chad Reed has shown he could win a moto; but that was after RC crashed out of the lead – falling well back in the pack. I don’t believe any other rider in the field could beat Ricky this weekend, with the exception being Kawasaki’s James Stewart – if he is on his 450 four stroke! However, as this photo indicates, Stewart will be on his 250 two stroke. It’s no secret that sometime soon Bubba will debut the new green 450 – the question is when!
Stay tuned for more from Red Bud!!

There are sections of the track that will cater more to the 250 than the 450. Should be good, I can't wait.

If I remember correctly, RC crashed in Supercross and Reed and when the end of the season neared Chad started beating Ricky legitimately, straight up no wrecking, and it is playing out that way. It seems keeps getting faster and faster each week. I think he will have a win under his belt by the end of the season. I think Bubba will too when he moves to the 450. Ricky builds an early lead and tends to slow down a bit and the others gain speed towards the end of the season. Just my 142 cents
