Well i'm 14 year old girl in Colorado and wants to race so badly but my dads not to thrilled about the whole idea out of the 4 kids he has im the only one that loves the sport. When I do good he kinda likes to put me down. But luckily my uncle is there to support me all the way. So my question is do you guys have any ideas of how to convince my dad that i can do it that i can race and that he should support me? Any ideas will help.

If it were me I would tell my dad how I really feel about it and try to get your uncle to talk to him. My dad raced all of his life but after I got my first dirt bike and wanted to race my mom was not too thrilled about it. She still does not like the fact that I race but she still supports me all the way. I hope that you can get through to him. In my opinion racing motorcycles is the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

Sit your dad down and have a talk with him. Explain how much you love the sport, and all of the befefits from it, etc.

My daughter is fourteen, and I'm scared to death.
Your dad probably is too.
I, pesonally, would rather see my girl on a dirt bike than IM-ing God-knows-who all day long.
Talk to your dad about getting himself a bike and spending some quallity time with his favorite female!

No, she's not very interested in dirt bikes.
She's becoming quite the guitar player, though, and we jam together alot.
I was suggesting that idea to motochic, 'cause it's very important for dads and daughters to spend time together, especially in the "teen" years.

tell him its better then you goin out and smokin a bowl. he might get mad but it aint nothing but the truth. i havent seen ne horrible injurys racing, ive seen more worse just play riding. like me and my firend were out and he was riding across the field and hit a hole and broke his neck. i know nothing i just said really made sense but the point im tryin to get at is you have just as much chance of gettin hurt ridin as you would racing, and you could be doin worse things.

Yeah, I'm 22 and my dad doesn't like the fact that I ride at all. It's understandable, you can get seriously hurt. But you can also get seriously hurt in football, or just riding in a car. You just need to tell him, look dad, i love this and i am going to do it. Respect my decision, and support me. Like whoever it was that said it, it's keeping you off the streets ho-ing around, and smoking crack or something.
And it is very important for dad's to spend time with their little girls. My dad didn't with me, but I love him no matter what. We've been through alot together.
You just need to talk to him. No yelling, or screaming, just talking.
