I have had my 01 YZ250 since new and decided it was time for a make over and motor preventative maintenance rebuild. Over the years I have put it threw a lot and to this day it has run perfectly and only needed 2 top ends and 1 clutch......I believe in using good oil and use Golden Spectro at 50:1.....Dont give me any 50:1 BS as I am still on the original crank and its still good!

The bike has been MXed, Off Roaded and Supermoto raced with probably a 1000 hours or more on it and to this day I can still pull hole shots on 450F's!

This how it looked.......

This is my inspiration...

The make over.....

Looks awesome. I am doing the same thing to an 01 RM250. I have a question for you with regards to frame paint. Did you use regular spray paint or did you use automotive paint? I used regular spray paint and am worried about it being to soft and chipping. Anyways, excellent work. Hope mine turns out that good.

I painted it with Krylon rattle cans from Wally world. I put a layer of clear numberplate background material over the high wear areas of the frame.

One question, what did you use on the fuel tank? Is that paint or an all over decal, i think its a decal because you can see the blue of the orignal colour where the seat latches onto and where it sits on the frame.

Have you gotten a chance to ride your freshly rebuilt yz yet lumpy? Wondering if you noticed a difference since you rebuilt the bottom and top end. Get it dirty yet??
