2 strokes
4 strokes have massive engine brake (the engine slows it self down when you let go of the gas)
and in the air, that would cause you to nose dive
and no you dont have to mix gas for 4 strokes, but since you dont know how todo that, i would not reccomend a 4 stroke, they are very complex and harder to work on,
2 strokes are easier and simple, but even to you will be very hard to work on
get a 2 stroke, the manual,
and learn how to ride very well befor you go and try your best travis pastrana impersonation and break your neck
(like a year or 2)

Jesse i don't think either is right for you, if you don't even know about mixing gas for a bike, you shouldn't be riding one. 2 or 4 your gonna have problems, maybe you should look into a nice bicycle. if you want to see dirtbikes, people like you should just watch on espn.

Your a retard. First off, Iv been riding since for 5 years now. I do some of my own work on bikes, so i probably know more than you little priss city riders. Also, I just started jumping at a newly built ramp, and it took me about 5 minutes before i could do no footers, one footers, one handers , lookbacks and i almost did a knack knack. This is probably as much a s you would learn in your whole life so eat my ass.

I think your the dumb one. You backwoods country trash. First you can't spell, it's called a nac nac. And as far as working on bikes, i have a full machine shop in a big garage at my house in the city. I build 2 stroke motors, repairs or mods. So when you say you work on your bike, meaning you change your spark plug, you don't know as much as you think.

WOW! This turned out well.
I was just going to mention that a couple weeks ago I was talking with Mike Metzger at the Xtremy awards, while they were showing footage of him back-flipping a 450F.
He say's the four stroke works great for freestyle, and he really likes it.
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, and didn't hear it right from Metz himself, I would never have believed it.

First of all, we were all new at one point. Next, it is never too late to learn. So don't say he should watch it on tv, because you didn't know that stuff when you started. So just give him a chance

Its getting just u bit too hot in here.
as for weights
CRF 250 92.5 kg
CR250 96.6 kg
i think that most of u use lb so it wont mean much to u but ne ways
i think they mostly use 2 strokes because they are a bit better on the landings and they use power band on the up ramp and 4 strokes dont have power band so yea

I think all bikes both 2 and 4-stroke have a powerband, just 2-strokes have a "powerband hit". Sorry I just had to say that as I never understood the whole powerband idea until like a month ago there was a thread on this.
