I started riding when I was 8 and started racing when I was 8 maybe 4 months after I started riding (in the 65 class).

Racing: First race is planned for next weekend on my 2004 ktm 125sx

Im trying to convince my mom to take me next weekend. Did you ever find out wether it was AMA sanctioned or not?

ive been riding since i was about 15, im 17 now, i hit up tracks alot but i dont really race much im always working (will race this summer) ive raced a 125 beginner class once and i won, i swear none of them stood up when riding and rolled every jump but small small tables,

but this yea im going to a better track and im going to try 250d (and see if i can get 250c if i ride like a sandbagger)
or can i just go straight to 250c?

heres the track i will be racing everyweekend

im ADAM

I learned to ride at 6 or 7 years old in 19....mumblemumble.

Started racing 125's at 13 in 19...mumblemumblemumble.

Moved up to 250's at 15 (back then a 250 had almost as much power as a modern 125.)

Lost my competitive edge when I broke my back at age 17, and stopped racing.

Been riding ever since, though.

Over 30 years experience.

Here's a pic of my first race bike.

My son's RM 65 would kick it's ass!

If the "old guy" say's it's not AMA, it's not.

Old guys are always right!

My first bike was a '74 (I think) Yamaha MX 80. That was in 1987, so I was 6 years old. I started racing when I was 15 on my '89 YZ 250.

Bryan I feel bad for that old guy. I talk to him almost every time I go up there, you know they have him work on every holiday besides christmas and have him out there even if theres a foot of snow? The dude is in his mid 80's. In the fall he gives us cantalope and all this other food that he grows though . He sells them for like 2 dollars to everyone else. Hes pretty cool but I feel bad he has to stay out there all the time. Over the summer Im gonna take his place for him for a few hours so he can go inside and eat or something.

i was 3 almost 4 when i started riding a yamaha tri zinger. i got it for x-mas in 1984.

after i beat the tri zinger to death i moved onto a kx80.

after i beat the kx80 to death i moved onto a 94 kx250 this was just an awesome bike.

then i decided i wanted to get serious about racing and got a 99 yz125 started spending almost every single day riding for hours on end.

then i decided blue wasnt my color in the summer of 99 and went and baught a new 2000 kx125 off the showroom floor. rode this bike a couple years and decided racing was getting to expensive so i sold my bike.

ive rode almost everything since then that honda yamaha and polaris has had in the lineup since 2001. didnt really decide to get back into riding untill i destroyed my foot on a friends CR500. as soon as this snows gone ill go back and show that bike.lol. but now i got a cr125 and a cr250 i baught as basket cases and have put together. had to have something to do while i was hobbling around on crutches for 3 months.

ive been riding 20 years which is pretty weird because its longer then most of the people who posted have been alive and im only 24.

I had a 75 MX100 - great bike but the magneto kept shearing off.
