I know some will disagree , but , Av Gas is not good for a 2-stroke . It contains alchohol for high altitudes , so it helps keep the fuel from freezing . Av Gas also dries out rubber parts , such as crank seals . But , it's your choice . You will never benefit from any octane fuel over 108 . Period . Then & ONLY then , if you have engine mods , like a higher compression than stock , will you even need the higher octane fuel that is higher than 93 .

MasterWrench, I respect you and all that you have done, and all that you know about engines.
However, I will not waver on my use of Avgas 100LL in two-cycle motocross engines. I have personally used it in all my bikes since 1985. Never had one fuel related issue. Some of the bikes have had the compression raised pretty radically, and squish velocities that were borderline stupid. I like to experiment on my own bikes, and the only way to know how far is too far is to go too far... LOL
Think about it. AvGas has to be incredibly consistant, or people will die. People say that AvGas is formulated to run at altitude, and low throttle settings. Perhaps. But also think about when an airplane engine is under it's highest load. That's at takeoff. Which happens at ground level. So the fuel needs to work pretty well at ground level altitude too.
It's a good fuel that is viable for use in a two-cycle motocross engine. In a four-stroke, I'd never use it.
