It has come to my attention that probably 90% of you have no idea how to use the search feature on a forum. Not only will you irritate less people by not posting the same topic someone else did the day before, YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY FIND AN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION MUCH QUICKER THAN MAKING ANOTHER THREAD! Holy crap how can this be done you might ask .. well, I'll show you how with just a few easy steps even my grandmother could follow .. and she even has no clue what a mouse is.

We start off with moving your mouse to the top of the page and clicking on the SEARCH button.

Now after clicking on that wonderful button, you are presented with the actual search page.

Now all you do is type in a word or phrase in the "Search for Keywords" box, then press search.

If you have multiple words, like BIKE and PICS, put them in just like that, bike AND pics. You use the word AND to tell the search feature that you want BOTH of those words in your search results. You can also use the word NOT to define words that you do not want in your search results. You can also use the asterisk * as a wildcard. Say you want to search for anything with the word motor in it, you would type in motor* and the search results will reflect any post that has MOTOR in it (like motorcycle, motorboat, etc).

Seriously folks, try it out before you post something that might have been covered before (such as cleaning your air filter, which has been covered more times than I can count on all my fingers and toes).

If you guys have any questions about this, fire away, I'll answer them to the best of my ability. Lets keep it on track and help you find your way quicker!

It's okay guys, my opinion holds no weight around here.

Above the Insert, Home, and Page Up keys are three keys. The one on the left should say "Print Scrn SysRq"

You press that button, than go into a program where you can edit pictures or even microsoft word, and paste it into there.

It tooke me a long time before I knew those three buttons existed

OK, please forgive me if this is a stupid question. Perhaps I'm just blind, and I'm certainly stupid, but I see no link to search on this site?

The search is now a site search that searches everything except the forum. There is no more forum search function.

How ya been spanky?

No way to search the forum? Why? So no matter how many times the saem question gets asked, over and over and over again, the questioner can't search for the info? Not sure what to think about that...

Been pretty good. Just thought I would check out the old stompin' grounds, but it seems I can't use Spanky here any more. It won't accept my password, but I can't re-register as Spanky because there's already a Spanky user name registered...

In nesting the BB within the wrapper, some of the functionality of the BB got lost. This version of forum software works best when setup as a stand-alone. Honestly, the forum here is probably on the bottom of the web-developer's to-do list. The main site has undergone some changes for the better.

My moto814 username is the same way as yours.
