Just want to start off by saying 2 strokes and 4 strokes are both great bikes. Awesome to ride. I have a lot of fun on either bike.
I like all bikes.
Bikes are all the same maintence to me. Both bikes need love and care to run awesome. I spend more time playing around with my bike in the garage and taking it apart than I do riding it.... its the same way with any bike. Everyone should think that way.
4 strokes and 2 strokes if you care or even think that a 2 stroke or 4 strokes is more maintence I donÂ’t really care. But you got to think to yourself. I love dirt biking but do I love spending 4 hours in the garage wrenching on it and having a nice cold drink while doing it. My answer is yes I absolutely love doing it.
To be the best at riding you got to no how to keep your bike in clean running order. Any bike well break down if you donÂ’t take care of it. All bikes need maintence sometimes a 4 stroke needs more than a 2 stroke or vise versa.
So moral of my topic is. If you hate 4 strokes for there maintence or you hate 2 strokes for their maintence. Then your clearly not a true rider because just about every rider I no loves wrenching there bikeÂ…So enjoy your bike and donÂ’t hate a bike because you think that theyÂ’re a lot of maintence because all bikes are maintence. ItÂ’s apart of riding. And I for one love wrenching on my bike.
So I donÂ’t want to see any more stupid topics by regaliraing or anyone else about how 2 strokes suck. I bet regal racingÂ’s 250F sucks balls because he probably does not know how to take care of it. And thatÂ’s why you take your anger out on a little motocross forum because you have no sense of mind to take care of your own bike. Anyone can take care of a bike the way you learn is by owning and riding one.
2 strokes are great bikes as well as 4 strokes. TheyÂ’re both maintence and pretty much the same. So if I see another person wine about a 2 strokes maintence and how terrible it is or how bad a 4 strokes maintence is and how either bike breaks down a lot im going to post this topic and say to them if your bike breaks down its probably because you donÂ’t know how to maintain it or the person you saw with a broken down bike obviously didnÂ’t take care of it and thatÂ’s why it broke down. I have never had my bikes break down on me before. And you no why? Its because I take dam good care of it. I see people all the time pushing there bike bran new 450s or bran new 250 cc bikes or 125s or what have you. And after further inspection of their bike when I try to help them I can clearly see how they donÂ’t take care of it.
And for every single one of you 2 stroke haters I got a story for you. 2 of my buddies at the Fraser river I ride with never maintain there bike they have both a 2003 YZ450F and a 2004 CRF450 they both didnÂ’t change there oil once since they owned it and seized the engine. There goes 2500 bucks down the drain.
So regal racing just to let you no ive seen just as many broken 4-stroke bikes as I have 2 stroke bikes. Ive probably seen more messed up 4 strokes than 2 strokes (except mine)
But ive also seen my fair share of busted 2 strokes. So what im saying is both bikes are equal maintence wise. There just different bikes on the track. ThatÂ’s about it.
If everyone took as good of care of there bike as many of us on this forum. There would be no complaining about how either bike sucks.
So before you go stomping other peoples bike whether it is a 2 stroke or 4 stroke I want you to look at your bike first and think for 5 seconds if my bike is really better than say that Honda 125cc im stomping on. And maybe ask the owner how much time he spends with it in his garage. Maybe he maintains it better than you maintain your own bike. And thatÂ’s what makes a bike great and thatÂ’s you. Not the engine inside its frame. Its completely how YOU maintain it
Remember my topic and remember it well.

Its been a while since my last post. I was blaster246 on the old forum. Trev just told me to check this out. Having wrecked my last bike and bought a new bike last night, I know first hand how important maitanence is.

RIGHT-ON TREV!!!
I, personally, enjoy riding more than maintaning.
But obviously, if you don't take care of your stuff, your stuff will fail.
Racing four strokes DO require more maintanence than two strokes. XRs, TTRs, and DRZs don't count. They are like lawn mowers in comparison to YZFs,CRFs, and RMZs.
I've been running my four stroke lawn equipment for almost nine years on nothing but oil changes, and a good carb cleaning once a year or so.
On my two stroke I can pull my motor, tear it down, put in a piston kit, put it back together, and be riding in a couple hours.
I don't have time for valve clearance, cam timing, cam chain adjustment, valve guides, valve seats.........SCREW THAT!
And Derek, the "stupid kid" comment was a joke, right?

Yah I spent a few hours tinkering in the garage. The problem is my bike has been running good lately and I havent been able to ride as much so I sit in the garage trying to figure out something to do on my bike lol. I organized my tool box and got rid of all my dads crap that was thrown everywhere. That took a while!
