Roost Report: Justin Barcia’s Wrist Injury

GEICO Powersports Honda’s Justin Barcia, known for his aggressive racing style and awesome raw speed, won round one of the Lites East Supercross Championship, but then he went down hard in practice at round two in Atlanta. At the time, he thought he had just sprained something in his hand or wrist, but it turned out that he has two fractures in the hand/wrist.
Not one to give up, he got fitted for some AllSport Dynamics wrist braces for his right wrist and showed up at Daytona..

I talked with Chad Reed this week for something completely unrelated to the race in Atlanta that has been on everyone’s mind heading into this weekend’s event at Daytona, and but at the end, since he had a few days to think about it, I asked him more about the contact between him and James Stewart.
First, I asked him if he got upset because when Stewart made the pass on him heading to the white flag, he was sandwiched between Stewart and his teammate Kyle Regal, given his history..

In his first-ever season not racing on full-factory equipment, Chad Reed has not lacked speed, but he has lacked starts. He finally got a start in Oakland and, despite some technical difficulties with his motorcycle, it resulted in a second-place finish.
