LightSpeed Yamaha YZ450F Engine Reposition Collars

The newer rear-tilted cylinder YZ450F has been a very popular motorcycle for the past few years except for the evolution of the bike. Yamaha has done very little to further develop this motorcycle and this is where the aftermarket world has stepped in. LightSpeed has developed and tested a nifty part that is easy to install and is very cost-effective. The idea is to reposition the engine 2mm forward to help load the front end to help improve the handling of the motorcycle. Over the past few years, the aftermarket sector has been offering offset triple clamps, lowering links, and all sorts of goodies to help improve the YZ450F’s handling traits, yet at a great cost. This small part is probably the most simple and cheapest way to change the way your YZ feels. The collars are available for 2010-2012 Yamaha YZ450Fs. If it’s any consolation, we have even spotted reposition collars being used on Team JGR Yamaha race bikes. According to the directions, installation appears fairly straightforward. Punch out the stock collars, tap in the new collars, and then file just a tad off the stock motor mounts. The job should take an hour at most if you own your own tools that consist of more than just a hammer and pliers.
