New Technology: R&D Throttle Body

We spotted Doug Dubach at the track along with Dean Dickinson from R&D Racing during our 2013 CRF250R test but didn’t look into what where the two working on—together. As it turns out they were testing a new throttle body, in fact, it’s a TB that the Geico Honda 250F squad have been running. The idea removes the traditional butterfly design and replaces it with a gate style valve. When the throttle is wide open the gate valve moves moves completely out of the way for unobstructed air flow.

This quick YouTube video surfaced with Doug Dubach talking about the new unit and we wanted to share it.
