The LA County Fair is one of the biggest such annual fairs in the country, as should be expected for a county that almost 10 million people call home. On the final Saturday night of the 2011 LA County Fair, the horse-track infield was taken over by the ASA FMX World Championships.

Over the years, X Games has tried to bring in more and more Moto events. Some have stuck, and some haven’t. The list includes Freestyle Moto X (the original), Step Up, Best Trick, Best Whip, Moto X Racing (supercross, basically), Women’s Moto X Racing, Super Moto X, Speed & Style, and now Enduro X and Women’s Enduro X. I may even be missing some because this is just off the top of my head.

Mike Mason was denied a spot anywhere at X Games 17 and it took a social-media firestorm to get him an official invite just to do Speed & Style. And then he almost won. On the track, he did win, but his friend Nate Adams took the gold by virtue of his stronger tricks. We caught up with Mason while he was working on his YZ250 in his garage – in 100-degree weather in Las Vegas – today to get his perspective on things.

The world’s top 12 freestyle motocross athletes converted Rome’s Stadio Olimpico into a modern Circus Maximus for the third stop of the 2011 Red Bull X Fighters season. In front of 45,000 spectators Nate Adams nailed the tricks to earn him his second win of the season. Norway’s Andre Villa took second place while whiz kid Josh Sheehan of Australia came out of nowhere to take third place in the third stop of the 2011 Red Bull X-Fighters Tour.
