If looks have anything to do with winning a championship, the Geico Honda Factory Connection crew has their ducks in a row. Take Eli Tomac’s Lites/250 ride, it is a piece of motorcycle art. When it comes to the rules and what you can and can not do to a Lites bike, this ride is just shy of crossing the line. For 2012, the AMA even upped the max cost for kit suspension for the Lites class. According to the AMA rule book, the max for both fork legs (less triple clamps) was $4,500 and now has been raised to $5,175. Shock assembly max was $1,750 and is now $2,000. This means better suspension components or more profit for the suspension suppliers. With regard to this team, no stone was unturned on this bike and it looks like they may get a tad bit of support or access to some parts from Factory Honda. Here is a quick breakdown and closeups of Tomac’s mount.

Last year the #17 belonged to Barcia, now Tomac owns it and is doing the number justice. Yes you may have seen a ton of bikes at the local track wth Geico graphics but his bike is the real deal and far from stock.

Special nuts on the steering head that allow for safety wire.

Check out his little mod on the rear brake pedal. They have welded a small tab for a rear brake to adjust the height and to help avoid pulling the clip from the rear brake master cylinder if the lever is pushed up too hard.

The stock engine covers are stripped and coated and assembled with titanium hardware on polished engine cases.

Notice the Titanium Met Tec axle. They have moved the rear wheel as far forward as possible to tune the handling for supercross.

The radiators get extra bracing for durability in the event of a crash
