2013 Kawasaki 250 & 450 Motocrossers
Can you say Air Fork on the big boy?
2013 Kawasaki 250 & 450 Motocrossers
That time of year is upon us, the time when we wait by the computer as the new models start to pop up on screen. KTM drew first blood but Kawasaki was not far behind with the new KX250F as well as KX450F. No real “major” changes but the big news is the addition of the Air fork on the KX450. We have seen Broc Tickle racing with a Works style of this fork and now they will go into production for all to enjoy on the big boy 450. While the 250F will still run the SFF, yet it has been updated. There are other internal updates and changes that will also further enhance the 450F
The Dirt Rider Magazine shootout—winning KX250F will now feature an all-new exhaust system complete with a resonator that is said to boost power across the board and allow the bike to pull even higher into the revs. The KX250F’s DFI settings have been revised, and the engine gets a few updates such as a thicker crank, revised connecting rod and updated cylinder plating. The Showa Separate Function Fork is still present on the bike, although the 2013 model sports a brand-new version of the same SFF design.
Check out the photos below for an up-close glimpse at both machines. We’ll be riding both bikes soon, so be sure to stay tuned to Motocross.com and www.dirtrider.com for all the latest on the 2013 Kawasakis, as well as the newest offerings from the rest of the manufacturers!

The Kayaba Air Fork is the newest addition to the 2013 KX450F. Air forks have not been seen on a production motocross bike since the 1970s.

Not the most attractive part on 2013 KX250F but Kawasaki says it works. Good thing that it will be covered up by a guards/mask.
