Hi shawn this is normal. Have you read the OWNERS MANUAL? Check page 28, schedule maintenance. “have it service after 30 hours” !!!!!! You MUST see your Oil level transmission and engine. The Oil is the blood of the bike! I change the Oil every 15 / 25 hours of use. Always use Honda 4T SAE 10W30 SG MA Oil on both sides or Castrol Power 1 4T SAE10W30 SG MA.

Check Air Filter after ride with lot of dirt or mud, depending if severe conditions or not.

READ THE MANUAL! The CRF450R Owners Manual it is a bible, you have ALL information there.

I just bought a 2012 CRF 450 R, I ride a lot of trails on the clutch a lot will this burn my bike up, also I do not race the guys at the bike shop told me to bring into have it service after 30 hours, this sounds crazy to me like a money pit, does anybody have any suggestions on this
