Across the street from the Huntington Beach Central Park, which is near my house, there was a pretty sweet car show the other day. This isn't just your Sunday morning gathering at the local donut shop, but a show with a multitude of cars and trucks. My favorite section is the good ol' American Muscle cars, especially the GTO's! But each year I have been there, I have seen the small corner in the back of the park where people display their vintage motorcycles seems to grow. This time as I ventured over to the bikes, I saw a yellow spot in the distance that could only mean one thing, there was some sort of YZ over there.
As soon as I got to it I started having flashbacks to my youth as I looked over a perfectly restored 1979 Yamaha YZ80! It was 1977 when they introduced the Mono-Shock and I had the brochures of that bike pasted all over my room. It was all I could think about for months. But somehow I let my idiot neighbor convince me that 4 strokes were better and we both went out and got Honda XR75's. I want to hit myself with a bat every time I think back to the day we bought that slug! That's enough reminiscing for me, check out the bikes I saw in the photo gallery and let me know what you think. Have any good stories about the old days? Tell em here...
