From RacerXill.com:

All residents of Ogden, NY: The town is seeking to create a new law PROHIBITING the use of offroad vehicles such as motorcycles, ATV's, side-by-sides and snowmobiles on your OWN PROPERTY. If you live in Ogden and have an off-road vehicle and want to ride with out getting a ticket and/or arrested for doing so, then oppose this law at the public meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 (5-27-09) at 7:00 p.m. at the Ogden Community Center.

This ordinance will affect EVERY resident in the community. Say NO to Introductory Local Law #2-2009. You pay taxes, so why is the government restricting what you can and cannot do on your own property? Come speak your opinion at the meeting!

Town of Ogden Proposing to Make it a CRIME/Misdemeanor to Operate Off-Road Vehicles! Public Hearing-July 22, 2009 Ogden Town Hall- 7 PM The Town of Ogden has gone back to the drawing board and come up with even WORSE penalties than the original proposed amendments! Penalties for Offenses Violation of this article (Restrictions-Chapter 203) shall be deemed MISDEMEANORS ($1000 fine and 6 months to a YEAR in JAIL) ****IF you violate these loosely written noise laws you will have a CRIMINAL RECORD and SERVE JAIL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enforcement Any person who WITNESSES or SUFFERS from a violation of the restrictions may file a complaint who shall issue an appearance ticket to the said offender **Which means if your neighbor is disgruntled or not very neighborly they can file a report and you will be issued an appearance ticket to appear in court!!!** ***NOISE Proposal Amendments*** Chapter 128 ~Decibel Readings Decibel readings shall be taken while the vehicle is in a stationary, neutral position, at a distance of not less than (10) ten feet while the engine is being run at it's MAXIMUM RPM operating speed. What snowmobile, dirt bike or ATV will actually not break 80 decibels at MAX RPM??? They are outlawing our machines!!!!!!!!!! ~Excessive Noise Any sound which is annoying or causes alarm, including incessant or repeated sounds that have the effect of disturbing the community OR any sound in excess of 80 decibels. This leaves is WIDE open for elimination of ATV's, dirt bikes AND snowmobiles as any given person could claim they are "annoying" or "disturbing" and we will be issued a MISDEMEANOR!!!!!!! Don't let this Town STRIP ALL of OUR PERSONAL RIGHTS and charge us as criminals for operating off-road vehicles on our own property!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! July 22- 7 PM- Ogden Town Hall
