It’s tough to make a living with a lens, especially in this sport. There are a few guys who do reasonably well in the moto-space, but you can count those guys on one hand. So why do so many people want to do it, and for those of us who have been lucky enough to become a part of such a small little world, what makes us keep doing it? I have been known to shoot a Bar Mitzvah or two and the pay for that kinda stuff is ten fold more lucrative than a full day at the track.

"So BrownDog, why do you do it?" You may ask. Because I freakin’ love it, and when you love what you do money is no object. This sport offers endless opportunities to get something different, every day. In tennis or golf for example, the strokes don’t change too much and being unique is not that easy. Moto has ever changing conditions and the behind the scenes stuff is almost as good if not better. As I prepared to leave for Vegas and my amazing wife asked me how much I was going to make for the weekend, once again I had to gulp and hope that I made more than it cost me to go there. To me it is so much fun doing it, that I would pay to do it if I had to sometimes. Of course that is not possible and I have become acquainted with enough people who are in need of photos that I can survive a weekend and my wife will let me back in the house when I get home.
So while you’re anxiously awaiting the start of the MX season this weekend I thought I’d scoop up a few of my shots from Vegas that I’m really proud of and share them with you. Let me know what you think.
