Scott's line of Voltage goggles have been a popular model for for a number of years. Professional and amateur riders alike have been using them to win everything from major Motocross/Supercross races to local amateur events. After a number of years of success, Scott has decided to give these goggles a refresh in the form of the ProAir.
With the new design comes additional functionality in the form of ventilation, strapping system and form-factor to the frame.
The new RAM (Revolutionary Air Management) system delivers a healthy dose of air to the inside of your goggles, keeping them sweat free. Air enters through the rectangular "Venturi" ports that run across the forehead section of the frame and exit near the outside/bottom perimeter of the lens. The frame has been re-designed to facilitate an anchoring system for the straps so that the goggles stay socked inside your helmet, instead of pulling away at the edges.
One of the things we like the most about the new Voltage ProAir is all of the additional trick bits in the form of tear-off posts, a nose guard and cool looking riveted badge on the side of the band. We have a number of older Voltage lenses sitting around, and those still fit, which is nice.
The main complaint with the new line comes from those with a wider face. The previous Voltage and the new ProAir both have a medium sized frame, so those running an XL helmet might find the width of these goggles a bit narrow. This is not to say though, that they lack peripheral vision, as everyone agrees that the viewing pane is large enough to facilitate even those of us with the fattest melons.
Shown here is the Critic Limited edition, but there are a number of other colorway's to choose from, and of course they are available in the Motocross.com shop today.
