LET SEAN RIDE!
I spent the better part of today at Glen Helen, and I watched most of the top riders and had some conversations with a few of them. Today I happened to be parked right next to the legend himself, Mr. David Bailey who was there with his son Sean. A guy who was on a YZ450F with no graphics or numbers rolled up and started having a conversation with Mr. Bailey. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was Sean Hamblin. I said, “Hey,” and listened in on what they had to say. As most of you know, Sean has been training at Grant Langston’s house in Florida, and it sounds like he has been having a pretty good time too. Always the comic, Sean pointed out how his throttle grip was worn through to the throttle tube, just as any grip on a true privateer’s bike should!

I normally don’t shoot photos of guys without numbers, but without realizing it was him, I did notice he was riding extremely fast so I figured that he must be somebody, so I shot away. The boy is flat out, hauling the mail! I just read that Broc Hepler is now out with a broken arm, and Sean has been riding a YZ already anyway… I say, sign him up! He is a good guy that deserves another break, in my opinion. Will he win any of the races? I don’t think so, but he will represent Yamaha well, and he has always been a crowd favorite. What does Yamaha have to lose? They could sign him on a race to race contract if need be, but at least fill that empty spot until Hepler is back. With Honda having four riders under the tent, they are going to be a formidable opponent to beat, and Josh Hill is good enough to do it, but why not give him a little help. I don’t think Sean would ask for much, the factory bike alone should be good for him. Go get it Sean; you deserve the ride!

Talk to you tomorrow!
