LET SEAN RIDE!

I spent the better part of today at Glen Helen, and I watched most of the top riders and had some conversations with a few of them. Today I happened to be parked right next to the legend himself, Mr. David Bailey who was there with his son Sean. A guy who was on a YZ450F with no graphics or numbers rolled up and started having a conversation with Mr. Bailey. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was Sean Hamblin. I said, “Hey,” and listened in on what they had to say. As most of you know, Sean has been training at Grant Langston’s house in Florida, and it sounds like he has been having a pretty good time too. Always the comic, Sean pointed out how his throttle grip was worn through to the throttle tube, just as any grip on a true privateer’s bike should!

I normally don’t shoot photos of guys without numbers, but without realizing it was him, I did notice he was riding extremely fast so I figured that he must be somebody, so I shot away. The boy is flat out, hauling the mail! I just read that Broc Hepler is now out with a broken arm, and Sean has been riding a YZ already anyway… I say, sign him up! He is a good guy that deserves another break, in my opinion. Will he win any of the races? I don’t think so, but he will represent Yamaha well, and he has always been a crowd favorite. What does Yamaha have to lose? They could sign him on a race to race contract if need be, but at least fill that empty spot until Hepler is back. With Honda having four riders under the tent, they are going to be a formidable opponent to beat, and Josh Hill is good enough to do it, but why not give him a little help. I don’t think Sean would ask for much, the factory bike alone should be good for him. Go get it Sean; you deserve the ride!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Cool!
Sean looked fast! I'll post a clip of him hauling when I have some time today.
I saw Brown Dawg out there in the sand getting roosted yesterday! It was worth it cuz the shots look good buddy! (Thats right, I said DAWG..) Braahhp.
As you said, why not? Why drive the semi to every National for one rider? Why let all those factory parts collect dust when you now have two complete works bikes that will go unused until Grant and Broc come back? Give Hambone a shot! Or give the other funny back-up guy Travis Preston a call.
Maybe if it was "handing out free factory motocross equipment," day we would be able to see a different kind of racing to which riders aren't completely reliant on bike and maybe instead for a change a guy like Sean would have a chance to turn some heads.
Heck yeah! Today is "Handing Out Free Factory Motorcross Equipment" day.
From what I remember of Sean, he was always silly fast but got hurt over & over & over again, so he was never able to consistently show his speed in the big show. Actually, the first time I ever heard of him was when he beat McGrath & a few other really fast guys at a race out at Glen Helen, if I remember correctly. I really hope he stays healthy and gets a chance to again show what he's got.
My bad, just saw them in the User Photos. Looking good man!! Keep 'em coming! -Lutes
Hey Rms-71, post up some of your pics from today. We wanna see them. -Lutes
I did the same thing today. I was snapping pictures of the usual suspect and noticed this damn blue bike flying around the track...So snapped a few of him, not knowing who it was. Man Sean can ride. Beside Sean Hamblin, the guy that surprised me the most was Ryan Sipes. He looked good and fast. J-law looked good too...When he was out there. Even when he was goofing around, he looked fast and confident.
