If there is one thing that the hop-up specialists at Pro Circuit are known most for it’s probably their long-standing relationship with Kawasaki and the legacy of titles that the two companies have won together. It goes without saying that due largely in part to this highly successful partnership, Pro Circuit makes some of the best performance-enhancing pieces of equipment available for the green machines, and this Ti-4 GP titanium exhaust system is just one of those pieces.
Roughly the same system that the Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki guys run, the Ti-4 GP system is made from titanium and is among one of the lightest and most durable set ups out there. While the fit and finish of the Ti-4 GP exhaust, is probably just as good if not better than nearly anything that we have seen on the market. The header is titanium, and the entire system mounts up super easily. Changing the jetting is necessary, though, which for some people might be a bit of a hassle. It took us a fair amount of time to do this, but we can be a bit ham-fisted and a little slow at times. Other features found on the Ti-4 GP exhaust are the removable end cap and durable mounting brackets.
Performance out on the track is good, just like we expected it to be. The PC system doesn’t add a ton of power down low, but it does give the bike a considerable amount of over rev and top-end pull. We found at times that the best way to ride the bike with the exhaust installed is to keep the revs up and to keep the bike in the upper end of the powerband. Overall, though, there was a definite change in the amount of power that the KXF had once we mounted the PC system on it.
RATING
We docked a point off the rating for the simple reason that this pipe requires a few modifications to the jetting to get it performing flawlessly, but we understand that these settings aren’t always needed. In the case of this test, however, and making sure everything is accounted for, we thought that running the pipe with the recommended PC jetting was something we were obligated to do. In the end, we came away happy with the way the Ti-4 GP system performed. But after all, when you consider Pro Circuit’s long history of success with the KXF, is this really that surprising of a result?
