Over the last month here at Motocross.com, we have reviewed a few different types of goggles. Of those types, though, none really compare to the Oakley Crowbar goggle, and for good reason. For years now, Oakley has been hard at work developing their latest offering in the world of eye protection, and throughout that time, they have remained at the top of our short list for high quality products.

The Crowbar is Oakley’s top-of-the-line goggle, and boasts numerous high-tech features that help to enhance rider comfort and protection. One such feature is the lens, which is optically pure and meets all necessary impact standards. The lens is also treated with an F3 anti-fog process to help maximize both the peripheral and downward views. The foam is triple layer to increase comfort and help soak up sweat on a hot summer day. One of the coolest design features of the goggle, though, is the outrigger system that is made to evenly distribute pressure when the goggle is put on. Lastly, the Crowbar goggle comes with a removable nose guard, and a seven-pack of laminated tear-offs to use on those muddy days at the track.

Out on the track, Oakley’s years of experience in optics shows. The Crowbar is probably one of the best goggles we have tested, as the comfort and performance are second to none. The optical quality of the lens is awesome, the triple layer foam does an exceptional job at wicking away sweat, and the outrigger design keeps the goggles sealed really well to keep dirt and dust out. During one particularly hot moto, we noticed that the foam kept the sweat out of our eyes, and because of the outrigger system, we never had any problems with dirt coming into the goggle, even while being roosted by some fat guy on a big 450.

RATING

Like we said earlier, the Crowbar is arguably one of the best goggles we have had the chance to test. It looks stylish, protects really well, and holds up to nearly anything you can throw at it. If that isn’t enough, though, all it takes is a quick look through Oakley’s product line over the years, and you’ll quickly discover that they know their stuff when it comes to optics and eye protection. But while this goggle does cost a little more than other ones on the market, you will be definitely be getting what you paid for.
